A combination of clinical assistant and medical billing and coding programs with a comprehensive clinical internship.

The Clinical Assistant course is designed to acquaint the participants with the essentials of Laboratory Procedures as well as gain hands-on proficiency in Phlebotomy, EKG, Injections, Vital Signs, Urinalysis and Physical Exam Assisting.

An intensive, hands-on course specializing in medical terminology, human anatomy and CPT/ ICD-9 billing.

  12. Human Body in Health and Disease
  13. HCFA 1500 (Universal billing form)
  14. Key Concepts in Medical Billing
  15. Key Concepts in CPT and ICD-9 Coding
Total Course Length:   64 hours of hands-on participation

MS Windows Proficiency (Hands-on Pretest)
Legal Residency / Student Status

Students have to consent to have their blood samples and EKG's acquired by other students under supervision.
 
Graduation Requirements:  
  • Medical Office Orientation course (no additional fee.)
    Each Student is required to participate in this hands-on computer based program designed to introduce the student to various aspects of computerized medical office procedures.
     
  • Career Development Training course (no additional fee.)
    Each student must participate in this highly informative seminar style program geared towards the development of career enhancing skills such as resume preparation, interview preparation and coaching, OSHA Blood-borne pathogen training, HIPAA patient privacy and other related topics.
     
  • CPR course (no additional fee.)
    Each student must complete this training program and qualify to receive a CPR card. Current CPR card holders may be exempt.
